Coronavirus

All I can say to that is despicable marigold. Well I could use worse words.
I have worked out I only need an IQ slightly higher than my customers so that is just above primordial swamp level. OH says hers just needs to be high enough to keep one step ahead the chickens.
Not sure what IQ the person in charge of the queue at Tesco was, but he couldn't organise it. He ended up with 2 queues one of elderly, one of younger and ended up letting the younger in first somehow. The store isn't opening until 8 and people are queuing from 5am.
Someone I work with has had their freezer go wrong ETA for a new one 3 months at least. The standard line is " we have been experiencing high demand"

We have 2 food stores here; one tiny Tesco with a little post office counter and a medium-sized Coop. Which is now supplying most of the food to the 6000 or so people who live here. It was broken into last night rammed by a gang with a white van trying to get the cash dispenser out from inside the shop. In full view of local residents who called the police. So our main store is shut today. Enormous local indignation as you can imagine.

During "The Beast from the East" big snowstorm a couple of years ago, a gang of "youths" stole a JCB and used it to literally demolish a Lidl and looted it. They literally tore off the roof, and knocked a wall. And because of the snow, the police were slow to get there. I believe they did catch several looters though. It was in quite a poor area, and Lidl laid on a free bus service to their next nearest branch for the local residents, until they had rebuilt the damaged store.

Marigold sent me the video of the attempted theft - they're ineptitude is hilarious but of course it causes huge problems for the local people.

We have to bear in mind that average IQ is 100. All of us on here have a much higher IQ than that which means that there are an awful lot of people whose IQ is much lower than 100 ...

Speak for yourself. A lifetimes experience has taught me that I lie somewhere between an idiot and a moron.

No way Hen-Gen as for a start you can string more than two words together and grammatically correct at that.

The inept burglars in Marigold's post kept trying to reverse a white van when the back door was jammed up against one of those black and yellow steel bollards. One wonders whether he'd even attempted to pass a driving test!

Lord Sumption (former Supreme Court judge) has no gumption.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-52095857

Using drones might be a bit heavy handed but the cars in the car park were registered in Sheffield and Birmingham amongst other places, not local people getting out for excercise. He then goes on to criticise police for "wrecking a beauty spot" - an abandoned quarry pit where the water happens to be a lovely shade of blue but is TOXIC. In order to stop people swimming there the water has been stained black every year since 2013.

What Sumption says is totally irresponsible, pointing out the advice given is not law so by the look of it folks we can all go wherever we want to and wave two fingers at the police. Well maybe not actually wave as that might get you into trouble!

That's why we need this forum, so we can go "I don't believe it"
Probably ok for him sitting in a large isolated pile somewhere and not having a clue about what is going on in the real world.

A school that is open in Gosfield North Essex fairly rural and open for key workers children, was raided the other night and everything bar a tray of eggs was stolen, thieves emptied the fridge and freezers, suppose he would say to that, but they needed the food for their families

They swiftly enacted legislation here, so that the restrictions are law (temporarily), and the police can enforce the restrictions if necessary.

Love that Marigold! It reflects how much farmers are struggling as more people walk in the country with no idea how to behave when near livestock. The lambs have enough to contend with - magpies and crows, without being frightened to death by barking dogs (sorry Marigold) even if the dog is on the lead or shouting children.

Bit of Facebook humour:

Did you know that Michael Rosen has just come out of intensive care having hopefully got over the worst of coronavirus? This is the poem he wrote a few years ago to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the NHS.

Both my daughter and myself think we had "C" over Christmas as has as already been said a bit like a "light" case of flu, but not so severe as.

Kate's boss has said the same thing.

Very simple yet moving. It needs wider publicity now.

Our daughter has also had it, she thinks and our granddaughter. mildly thank goodness. Husband appears perfectly OK!

Neighbouring farmer also had all the symptoms before Christmas, persistent dry cough and high temperature
