Coronavirus

Panic buying? For Petes sake. I’ve not panic bought hand sanitizer, toilet rolls or food. But I do have Fever Tree tonic and Ocean Sent gin in my shed in more than normal quantities. ? If I die, I’ll die happy.

We do normally buy Mrs Darlingtons marmalade online as OH eats a pot a week, likes this make, and was ‘having to’ make a trip to a garden centre 15 miles away which stocks it in their very expensive shop. The latest order of 36 jars arrived yesterday so he’ll be OK for a while.

Are you back in the land of living with power yet? Can't imagine surviving without electricity...how would I dry my hair, for example?
But seriously, hope you're OK. :-)

Good stuff, Hen-Gen. Just completed my Tesco online order for tomorrow, OH asked for tonic water, only Fever Tree available. I've also had to order £8.50 bottles of wine. We'll be OK, the freezer is stuffed and we very rarely eat out of it. As long as the booze turns up we're fine. And there are always eggs...

Just had this from our daughter.

'Ok so since speaking to you I have heard from Eleanor, who called 111 for her husband Russ this evening. He has been very ill at home with all the cv symptoms for a week now.
111 quizzed Eleanor and said they were sending an ambulance.
The crew came and checked Russ, found him to have a very high pulse rate and blood pressure as well as fever. But said there was nothing they could do to treat it and he had to stay where he was and sweat it out.
The most shocking thing was that they then refused to test him. They said it was definitely cv, so no need to. They also said they knew it was cv because they were “seeing it everywhere”.
So don’t fall for any false reassurance about how the infection is really rare and hardly anyone has it. The figures are being shamefully manipulated. "

She lives in Dorset where the number of confirmed cases is said to be 5.

Our electric was all sorted after 17 hours. Something major blew up in the substation.
Sounds a bit like Gwynedd, they have no cases, but no test kits for the county. Havering has 7 allegedly, and Thurrock only one. Which I find hard to believe.

Same kind of thing happening here, with the testing/figures. They are so far behind with test requests, that people are recovering before they get tested. Dau's stepson developed symptoms over a week ago. He hasn't been tested yet. He's recovering well now.

Just to lighten things a little:

Pinched from a facebook post...

I interrupt the COVID-19 pandemic to bring you my latest episode.......
Last night I went to the supermarket to buy a bag of food for my cat.
Already in line, a woman behind me asked me if I had a cat.
I stared at her (those who know me will imagine my gaze ??) ...but then why would I be buying cat food...right? ??
So on impulse I told her no, that I didn’t have a cat, that I was starting the cat food diet again, and that I probably shouldn't because I ended up in the hospital the last time, but i did weigh 4 kilos less!
I told her that it was the perfect diet and that all you had to do is carry a few biscuits in your pocket and eat one or two every time you feel hungry (I have to mention that practically everyone in line was interested in my story).
Frightened, the woman asks me if I ended up in the hospital because the cat food had poisoned me. I answered...of course not!
I was admitted because I bent down to sniff the bum of a Ginger Tom and I was hit by a truck ???
I thought the man behind her was going to have a heart attack...he was laughing so hard!
...Let’s continue promoting reading! ?
I have to confess...I posted this to make you smile. It's your turn to copy/paste it and make someone else laugh.
We need to laugh more! Have a GREAT DAY ??

Fantastic Margaid :D :D :D

Looks like Boris has cottoned on to the fact that Sunday is Mothering Sunday and lots of people will have booked meals out somewhere. So just in time, he tells restaurants and pubs to shut. Spoilsport or sensible? If the latter, it's probably the first time in his career!

So funny! Like talking to my neighbour Mark earlier who said that his brother had seen someone coming out of the supermarket with a whole trolley full of frozen peas!

Did he have an allotment?

Is that a thing? Spreading peas on you're allotment? Mark's brother has three allotments! There are some strange offers on at the moment. When I went to Asda earlier they had an enormous amount of flowers and had filled up the empty isles with them.
