Am I the only person who wanders down to the chickens as soon as the day breaks in her dressing gown and wellie boots with wild bed hair? Please tell me others do the same thing and chicken keepers country wide are equally uninhibited!!
 
Oh yes, me too, especially when the winter weather really gets going, the drinkers are frozen if left out overnight, and they want their breakfast before I get ours!
 
Yep! I probably look just as bad as the rest of you wandering down with jim jams wellies and seriously bad morning hair.. :- ) My neighbour is an undertaker so he is out at all sorts of weird hours and strangely enough we tend to meet quite often ;-) LOL!
 
I often dash down in pj's and chicken shoes....my neighbours are used to it by now...:)
 
Sounds very familiar;Beige bathrobe,black Hunters,2 bowls of breakfast under arm-very fashionable this days :-)01 :lol: :lol: :lol: :-)99 and if is raining golf umbrella-nothing on the small scale :D
 
me too very bad hair, dressing gown and chicken shoes. Let dog out followed by sort out my three hen houses if Im lucky I am vaugly awake by the time Iv done house three. In the rain put hood up on my most unflattering dressing gown. Hopefuly all the girls get up straight away if I count them out and one does not get up I then stumble over to the house to get them out and do a chick check not good on a cold wet morning. Guess we are all a bit crackers.
 
Well, I sort of do this, but I put my clothes on OVER my PJ's!! Trouble is that if I'm really busy that day I sometimes forget that I've still got my PJ's on under my clothes!! Luckily I haven't got as far as actually going to work or out and about like this! Sitting typing this I have just realised that today is one of those days and I still have them on!! Oh dear!
 
iv not got shoes for going down to the chicks an ducks so all my shoes covered in mud, but yes in dressing gown as the cock crows im there, hair in a knot on my head molly under my arm (she dont do mornings well) good job neighbours are in bed they may have me comitted
 
Yep, me as well.
PJs, Union Jack wellies, and blue fluffy dressing gown.
Till I read this posting, thought I was the only woman in England who did this. Quick word with the girls
and back in to breakfast. I never imagined all over the UK secret hoardes of us are doing it most mornings!!!
 
How about yesterday's mascara to add to the list of chicken chic?

So:

- jimjams
- dressing gown
- rain coat
- wellies (hunters or otherwise)
- chicken shoes
- chicken clothes
- wild bed head and...
- yesterday's mascara (I know it's a mortal sin not to remove make up the night before)
- oh, fluffy socks??
 
Trying to sign for a parcel..oblivious to the fact I had a huge cockerel under one arm...sure the postie thought I was bonkers! :D

....seeing as we are all being very honest with each other, I can also admit to rushing back from work at lunch time in my new ultra smart and trendy suede black boots and thinking..."I will nip and check on the girls in their run..Wont need to change boots for wellies, they will be fine."

My smart new boots aren't anyymore. I have also ruined my fluffy slippers doing this!!! The moral of the story is always spend time changing into the correct footwear. ;)
