cod liver oil

i have just purchased a can of super solvitax cod liver oil,and was wondering what quantity to give between 15 chickens.

I use a couple of table spoons mixed well into pellets once every week or every 2 weeks. I tend to use in early spring,before the new grass is growing... and early autumn(moulting and spring birds coming into lay) and in moderation.
Thats just my preference though and depends on what number of POL birds I have. It is also useful when worming as helps mix the flubenvet.

I add the cod liver oil to the layers meal for 7 days each month, like foxy said just a few tablespoons into the mix

Can you tell me why you give them Cod Liver Oil please.

Boots and most chemist sell it, i mix it in with sweetcorn,mealworms and sunflower hearts once a week

Cod liver oil contains vitamins and minerals, particulary D3 which is important in the regulation and absorption of calcium, this is why I only really use in late autumn, early spring with pullets/hens coming into lay.
