Hi folks! I'm going to sound like a complete pekin novice, but i promise i'm not!

I got given this guy a while back & i'm just checking that he is what i think! As far as i know he's technically a "chocolate partridge" pekin??? But i've never heard of that colour?!!! I was going to breed him to my pure chocolate pekin hens & see what comes out...no quizzing me about chocolate pekins!!! We've had them a few years & our breeding plan is going very well!!! (you either love them or hate them!!!)

Any thoughts welcome!

Amy.

no idea but hes very pretty, I'm a chocolate hater lol ( only the color in chickens mind not the real thing )
but i do like him

Sadly i can't comment on my love or hate for them...i inherrited them!!! So i think i'd be hung if i said i wasn't keen!!!

He's a great little guy though & very friendly, even if i'm not 100% sure as to what he is!!!

Looks like a salmon pekin? The girls (if put to salmon) would come out salmon wih cream base colour. Salmon is a lovey colour in pekins and I haven't seen many around, the hens are gorgeous! Wouldn't add choc but would try and find some salmon pekin hens?

He looks very much like my salmon pekin boy- I'll try and get a pic on later (there might even be one already on here!) The cockerels are very attractive with quite a bit of the chocolatey colour on them. The hens are really beautiful too.
If you put him with the chocs apparantly you would get 50% black and 50% choc offspring (according to the chicken calculator!)

Yep agree with the others, he aint no chocolate and is veering towards salmon more than anything but a pretty colour none the less.
He could be split for choc though, no way of telling unless you breed him to some choccy hens.
