Hi, I have 2 pekin chickens who live in my garden. They are sisters and are about 4 half/5 months old. They both should be growing the same but one us slightly smaller than the dominant, which isn't much of a prob. It's the dominant one I'm worried about. Her earlobes have not formed properly and they are green in colour. She is eating and drinking fine but I don't know why its happened and whether I could take her to vet for them to see?
Wil be glad to hear what u think
Thanks
Em

Our Cream Legbars developed bright sky blue lobes at 5 months old -that's the colour of their eggs. Our Leghorn bantams have bright white lobes and that's the colour of their eggs. The other breeds have red lobes and lay brown eggs of various shades. Do Pekin chickens lay green eggs? Presumably they are not swollen or painful to the touch?

Hi, welcome to the forum! :-)99 :-)99 :-)99 :-)99
Agree
If in doubt, email or ring an avian vet,
if its not normal, green earlobes may be the first sign of a serious disease.

Thank you,
well the other chickens lobes are red so this is why I'm worried. They don't look swollen, just under developed and green :-(
Hmm avian vet, how would I go about finding one of them? Prob stupid question I know

Try the internet, thats how i came across mine.
It does seema little strange that only one has green earlobes...

---------only a thought, you mention it also has deformed ears ----could they be imperforate with a build up of pus/infection in external auditory canal?? Ros
