Chickens doing overtime

It is an interesting development and has great possibilities. I like the statement "they will lead pampered lives", still wont be any longer than a commercial hen though.
Also an interesting thought as to people wanting to re home them once they have outlived their usefulness with regard to people eating the eggs
 
Very interesting, Marigold. I hope this will be the future for producing cheap and effective treatments for a whole range of conditions.
A couple of weeks ago on The Big Questions was a discussion about the potential for preventing heritable conditions by altering the human genome. Again a whole range of views as you might expect with fears by some that it was the thin edge of the wedge to a Nazi style of genetic selection.
All these things need rigorous testing and policing. But ultimately I see it as a bright new future for our species and, indeed, for the whole planet.
