Hi
I have 5 ex - batss, one of whom recently appeared to have gapeworm. Flubenvet 1% fed to all the chickens seems to have been successful- but since then one of the chickens has become very lethargic, is not eating (cat food or cooked egg) and drinking very little.

Her droppings are foamy and sulphur yellow in colour. She may also have produced a green dropping (size and shape of spagghetti) in clear fluid with what appears to be white powdery solids.

She does not appear to be exhibiting any neurological symptoms but is very slow and spends her time in the stable

Does anybody have any ideas/ or experience?
Thanks

She doesn't sound well. The symptoms are fairly general and to be honest I haven't got a clue, it could be a number of things

Some of these droppings could be normal - Caecal droppings are a frothy dark french mustard colour and normal poos contain urates as well and often have a white cap.

I would isolate her and take her to a poultry vet because she sounds fairly sick..

Dear Tim
Thanks for the response. I took her to a (general) vet yesterday, who agreed she was ill, and she is on an antibiotic. She had shown good signs of improvement before that, but then plateaued- hence the trip to the vet. She seems to be a bit brighter again and resisted her tablet today (I am taking that as a positive sign!). She is showing her normal interest in worms and spiders as top tidbit too!!

The others are all fine.
Thanks again
