Chicken Sitting/ Swapping in Surrey

Hi there-

Could anyone recommend a reasonably priced chicken sitter in Surrey? I only have two girls and they're dead easy to look after so I kind of resent paying £5 per hen per night- :evil: I'm near Leatherhead

Alternatively- would anyone be interested in doing a chicken swap? Your girls can come and hang out in my garden for a couple of weeks (if they bring their own eglu or easily transportable house) and then my two girls can go to yours? Like a holiday home swap? They'll come back refreshed and with a couple of new friends under their wing 08 ...I'm going away for two weeks in August so if anyone is interested, I think this would be a really cost effective and fun way to solve the chicken sitting issue! 10

I once found somebody through a forum post who was living locally to me and I used to drive to her house and feed / water the chooks whilst she was away and she did the same for me.

Moving them can be quite stressfull for them and I had too many to take there!

I agree. Moving them is stressful and there is a real risk of them picking up disease on a new premises.

May be able to help you out, but will have to confirm nearer the date, as I tend to be a last minute holiday booker! Will certainly have your girls, and give them a holiday - if they bring all their camping equipment with them - including a tent. What a good idea I hope it catches on.
