can i ask something

I believe DEFRA says it's OK to bin them if they're double-wrapped in polythene, but that's just DEFRA, not your mum!
Do you think putting corpses out for foxes might attract them even more to the area, so when they'd had the dead chicken they'd want to come back to see what else you'd got going spare?

so now we've sorted out how to cull a bird, are we on to what to do with the evidence if you don't want to eat it yourself?

umm maybe it does attrack them more i dont know but we already have tons around here and especailly in the area i put mine well actully only one bird as the other 3 i have managed to get rid of at the stables and of course the others have been at the vets anyway , i only put 1 there as at the time i was totally stuck as what to do i couldnt have a bonfire as i had nothing to burn so that was a no go zone i really try and not dump mine where anyone can find them like the public i make sure they go into the bushes lmao i am making myself come across as really naughty now  well i did bury one on my plot without anyone knowing but that was about 2 months after getting them and god i did panic as what to do with the body but you know what the foxes never dug it up and i only buried her about 2 ft down .

hehehe good way to carry this on i suppose but its great that we can come on here and discuss this in a quiet manner not all forums are like that

ohh can i add a friend on the allotment the other day did suggest putting them into the food recycling tub double bagged as they aint to know wether the chicken has to be plucked or not i mentioned that to mum and she freaked so you know what i am kinda stuck when it comes to getting rid of them .

Ours go into the bin wrapped in an old feed bag usually, which then goes to land fill. If it's Summer they go into the freezer first, double plastic wrapped, otherwise they rot in the heat and the flies get to them and you have a bin full of maggots, which isn't very pleasant!!!

DEFRA advice is double wrapping securely and into the household waste, obviously of not suitable to be eaten. I'm.assuming you can't eat a hen.culled for ill health. I'm not sure I.could anyway! I am looking into raising some for the table.
