broody hen how soon

iv got my first broddy hen yay
how soon can i put eggs under her or chicks
shes only young so should i leave her till next time. ctoo is a polish x silkie

There might not be a next time although with Silkie in her the chances are she will go broody again. I would get her settled where you want her to sit (in her own space) for about a week before putting eggs under her. Give her a couple of dummy eggs, then give her a chance to sort out her nest and for you to dust her for lice and treat the nest box for red mite.

If she's well settled after a week, put the eggs under her or chicks should be OK too although two weeks sitting is best for chicks.
