When my Broody Pekin bantam hen was encouraged off the nest today, after three days solid sitting she was attacked by the cockerel and other hen. Is this normal after only three days away from them ?
She is sitting in a small brooding hut and pen parallel to the main coupe.
Before going broody she’s always been the middle hen in the three, so she’s always been quite capable of looking after herself.
When I want her to come out and eat every day, should I keep the other hens and the Cockrell away from her or will this cause problems once her chicks are hatched?.
Thanks everyone.
