Hi, one of my white Campbell's has gone broody and is sitting in the main duck area on a nest. there are 2 other females and 2 drakes in the same fox proof enclosure. She has been on the nest for at least 14 days. Last year she did the same, then at 3 1/2 weeks walked away. However, this year the nest is huge and very sturdy. My dilemma is: the area is not large and it will be very difficult to section off a broody area. I worry that if I move her, she will abandon the nest. But if I section the other ducks away, they will not be fox proof, or have access to the pond. I am at a loss at what to do for the best. Will the older male ducks kill the hatchlings? if they remain together? any advice greatly appreciated.
