late yesterday i came up with the idea of putting holes in small plastic bottles and filling them with mixed corn to hang up to see if it might prevent my girls from eating the eggs as now i am so sure its the white leghorns doing it , so along with my nehprew i made those toys and hung one up and left one on the floor and they work the girls love them once 1 peice of corn fell out that was it the bottle got a hammering around the run but very few treats came out which made the girls work at it more talk about stopping them from getting bored will be interesting to see if i get any eggs later today but watching the faverolles play with the hanging one was so funny one pecked it swung it about and knocked her sister on the head :lol: dont think she was to impressed , if they work then i am going to make some more for them :D i'll try anything to stop them eating the eggs .
 
i'll do some later :) , but didnt work on stopping them from eating the eggs and it is the 2 whites doing it :( but at least when they aint in the house they are being kept amused .
 
theres nothing to making these at all and the girls love it or tehm i should say :D there is another one of one of them hanging up but uploaded the wrong pic .

You know Karlooben, that is such a massively good idea!!!!! Won't hang them.

So our fatties they will get exercise as well. We'll sort out some bottles as soon as I get back from Gascony.
 
only a few bits of corn come out at a time and it takes all day for 9 birds to empty 1 bottle so they dont get overdosed on corn this afternoon i havent had to give them any treats instead they are working for them but be warned the bottles are very tough to drill into :lol: :lol: :lol:{ i put one at the bottle and 2 at the sides about 2 inches up from the bottom but they can go anywhere really } ethier that or my drill bits are knackered .as for the 2 that are breaking the eggs i think i may have to let them in with mr doodle the duck during the day as i cant stand this getting no eggs any longer . margiad i think your as barmey as me but i like the idea :-)17 :-)17 :-)17 breed agasint breed :-)05
