Hi all, I forgot to say hello last nite so hello.
Many thanks for your replies, can I ask for your comments on whether red mites bite. The reason I ask is I have dismantled original mite infested coop and am building them a new one but whilst working in the run and where the old coop used to be which I have sprayed with partially diluted bleach and sprinkled lime over the area(This is all away from where the chickens are at the moment.) and I have ended up with 30 odd bites in a couple of days ,legs arms shoulder belly neck back in fact everywhere............so do they bite or am I just lousy( I'd rather you didn't answer that too quickly.
Regards D

 touch wood, havent had them (yet  ) but would imagine they do. Apparently flea shampoo is a good thing to shower with when you have cleaned huts out.

They don't usually bite people - just crawl on you and make you itch like bug**ry - that said, it's from personal experience so maybe they just don't like the taste of me... Too much garlic and ACV

Could perhaps be something else? I got eaten alive on the weekend under our plum trees whilst clearing branches away.
