I have a submissive Araucana that was being trodden by one of the hens in the spring and she lost some feathers from her back. Then I am not sure if she was pecked in the house at night because the feathers didn't grow back. I therefore separated some of the more dominant birds. She now seems confident with the other birds, but the feathers have never grown back. Does this mean she could still be being pecked? I have even tried her with just one other bird that she gets on well with, but she still has a bald patch and no sign of feather regrowth.

Has she got some kind of feather lice as well Chickenfan? We have had instances of feather loss and, after reading about 'depluming lice' which tunnel into the feather causing it to snap off or fall out, we treated it. We had a Cream Legbar who was losing neck feathers, also two buff Orpington cockerels losing tail feathers. A small spray on the area with Frontline, the 0.5mL applicator, stopped it and all the feathers grew back. Never saw anything on the birds though, just stunted or broken feathers.

You could fit her with a saddle so no birds can peck her back and see if the feathers grow.

Thank you Chris. I have ordered a poultry saddle to see if this helps.
