Bird Flu Alert - keep poultry under cover, DEFRA.

If you let them out onto grass make sure it is short, they have full crops and have had plenty of grit. So best time would be midday, after they have fed and with extra feeders out. This is to avoid the grass digestive impaction that claimed two of our Wyandottes when we moved here from the Dordogne nearly 4 years ago- two were bullied off the feeder and hadn't eaten much when they were released into a grassed enclosure.

Well, it's nearly a year ago since DEFRA issued its edict about keeping chickens under cover, on Dec. 7, 2016. Anyone heard any news about the situation so far this year? How are you getting on, Chris, under the main migration routes in France?
At least I suppose we shall mostly have worked out what to do, if it happens again this year.
