Just in case anyone is interested in getting some POL hybrids the BHWT is rehoming 600 16 week old pullets next week, here is the text of their announcement on their Facebook page.
We have just been given an unusual opportunity to take 600 point of lay hens that would have been destined for colony cages, but are not now required by one of the biggest producers in the UK.
These hens are youngsters, just beginning their lives, and we want to help them… and so need your help too...
They must come out of their current site immediately, and will be available for adoption from Hertfordshire, Cambridge, & Suffolk next weekend (5th December). These girls are 16 weeks old, dear little hens looking for a better life rather than a trip straight to slaughter. And just to let you know, we have 1,500 girlies coming out from colony cages this weekend, and many more in December.
