best goose?

What is a breed that is not mean, not loud unless something is coming it does not like.
Can a person get just one goose and house it with my ducks? I need a breed with good temperment, that is most important.

Hello, toulouse are very docile- not aggressive and become very tame. They can be noisy but not as much as chinese which are very vocal. you need at least a pair- one goose will not be happy on it's own.

My Brecon Buffs don't make too much noise unless disturbed.

I would say for temperament it is best to hand rear the goslings or have them with friendly parents. If they are kept with agressive parents, they seem to learn their ways.

I agree with David on the Chinese - they can make one heck of a noise!

The breeding season can be interesting though as I'm discovering and have had a few nips from my gander who is looking after things whilst the goose prepares her nest. He's got nothing better to do!
