I am having a severe respiratory problem with my Buff Orpingtons. I have tried Sulmet, But does not seem to be working.
I heard of Baytril use in Chickens, How much do you use of the oral form? (10 chcikens). How long after medicating, can I use the eggs? How long should it be given?

I need answers fast, as I have already lost 3 of my laying hens and have 4 more with coughing, sneezing, and raspy sounds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks and Welcome!

You will need to take one of your birds to a vet for examination and to prescribe the most appropiate antibiotic for your chickens, Baytril is one, there are also others that treat respiratory infections. Good luck.

Yes, it is only available on prescription from your vet - so at least one of your birds needs to be taken in so they can confirm this is the right course of action. They -may- think injection of Tylan-200 directly into the breast is better if the birds are in a bad way. Normally you need to catch it quite early on to use water soluble antibiotics such as Tylan or Baytril.
