Hi all!

Hope all is well out there?

I have had a hectic summer and finally shifted the scaly leg mites and then Gwen got lice, so treated them.

Now Celia has a bald bottom! No one bullies her (she picks on Gwen still) and she is laying and eating and scratting about alright but a big patch on her bum is bare! No one else has a bare bum and no one seems to be pecking Celia. I did squirt some "Smite" on her but on checking could see no sign of lice, or of feathers growing back.

Any ideas?

Incidentally, I treated all 4 girls with Invermectin when Gwen got the lice about 6 weeks ago.

Hi, is it bare bottom as in moult? could that possibly be it, or maybe she is being bullied? Maybe she is allergic to the lice stuff, or, maybe she has feather mite, r something?
a bit more info is poss would help!
thanks.

Hi.

She is the bully unfortunately! No one seems to bother her. She doesn't seem to be moulting elsewhere and no one else is.

She has had the Smite stuff before so I don't think allergy. I didn't see any mite when I checked her last week.

As I said, laying, eating and chasing Gwen as usual.

Anything else I can add?

Yo may find that Gwen is sneakily pulling the feathers out of her bum. We had one that crept up and pulled the feathers out of half the flocks' bums, including the big bad cockerel!

Well Celia is still baldy bottomed and none of the other 3 are, and no one seems to be bothering her. I have been watching like a hawk.

Today she looked a bit red so I have put zinc and caster oil cream on (known in my family as Bum Cream, for its use on nappy rash). It is the no perfume, no paraben , no addd rubbish type. I hope this helps and I am at a loss, unless anyone else has any ideas?

Lx
