I love this time of year--just as everyone stops laying this years girls start laying. Its fun trying to work out whos laying what pullet eggs. ATTENT. TIM_____ At last a lovely dark CBM egg today! Whoopee! Ros :-)08

Wow, that's a bit late Ros!

My youngsters came into lay around August but have stopped laying again now. You'll find the colour of the eggs changes through the season too - the darkest seem to be at the beginning and end of lay.

Yes--but they werent early, 27 weeks now---and its getting late in the year----well, thats their excuse!!!--I am going to eat it for supper! :-)08

Just been and collected eggs, noticed some nice little pullet eggs from the large faverolles just come into lay as the older ladies are conserving their energy :D :D

Marans pullet has just started to lay, as have the Apps & 2 serama :D

My light sussex has just started to lay she must be about 28 weeks or so :-)07

I am getting more eggs now from my Pekin ladies than I've had most of the summer as they spent alot of it being broody! :D Its great though because from what I read in chicken books I thought they stopped laying around Guy Faulkes night but it looks like theres no stopping them now. :-)08

None of my hens are laying at the moment either VP  The pekins were the last to stop laying (much like yours they had several long breaks from laying Clairethebear!)
The youngsters from this year haven't started laying yet but we're in nonrush and it's bitterly cold so I can't say I blame them :D
I'm buying in eggs from my nan at the moment as she has lots of ex bats and hybrids and they're still laying at the minute but come spring I'll still be buying her eggs and incubating(or selling) the ones from my hens :D
