Wonderful! Nothing as good as those first eggs!

No, there were 5 eggs from 3 hens, so must be 2 days.
We didn't expect them to start laying this month, so we weren't looking. Quite a few people here have said their hens are already laying, but the weather has been very mild, very wet but mild.
We scrambled them. To be honest, they had a very strong flavour that we are not used to.

It's not only the taste but the texture, which is apparent when you have a very fresh, flaky boiled egg for breakfast.
Now you are looking of eggs every day, you'll be able to work out how many if them are actually laying so far.

The ex-son-in-law didn't like our beef burgers because "they were too meaty". Had previously only had supermarket burgers with 30% meat and the rest rusk, so 80% meat was a bit of a shock. Same for eggs Carolb. We had to buy some eggs here and even though they are from local free-ranging small farms they are still bland compared to ours.

Congratulations on your first eggs! I wish I had some 'real eggs'! I can't remember when any of mine laid any, must be at least 2 months! I refuse to buy any from the supermarket though!

Well, the funny thing is, that there is only one hen laying. We weren't expecting any for a while yet, and I thought my OH had put the dummy eggs in the new shed that is now their coop. I had been seeing to them as he was ill and it was only when he went right inside one morning that he found them.
Wonder why the other 2 aren't laying, we got them at the same time and were told they we all the same age.

It's only 10 days since you posted about your first eggs. Like all animals they mature at slightly different times and the others will soon be starting, but there might be a gap of a week or two between them. You will just have to be patient, they will get there in the end!
