I does anyone have any views on using artificial grass in duck pens?
After this years rain I am considering the pros of using artificial grass in my permanent duck runs. They are out of their pens most of the day to forage but I have to pen them when I go out and they have gone to town with the wet and their pens are now a muddy mess.
I really loath having to pen them at all at the moment.
Their pens are big solid permanent fox and vermin proof so moving them around is out of the question.
Is artificial grass safe for ducks and has anyone had success using it for ducks?

Hiya :) They will likely eat it as they will forage on whatever they can in the absence of grass. Eating it wont be good for them. Re turf it if you can x

Thanks Dorsetduckowner. You have confirmed what I had thought might happen. I think I will re turf and put grass protection matting down and maybe it will survive any more of this awful wet weather.
