I just wondered if they are usually? We have one and would love for her to go broody. she's not a purebreed though (as she has spots of white in her feathers, but she's the closest thing we have!).

Thanks Cx

I have encountered a broody Legbar before, but on the whole I don't think they are a breed noted for their broodiness, so If I were you I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for your hen to start sitting!

We've got two and have had more. None have ever gone broody for more than a few hours. Pushed out of the coop and they forgot all about it.

Mine thought she might like to be broody as her companion was, but I turned her out of the nest box more or less as soon as she started and she decided enough was enough!!!

And what did she think of you?

Sorry, I just couldn't resist!
