Any recommendations for keeping track of or banding chicks?

I'm curious how this is done. If I were to hatch a clutch how could I realistically keep track of each one? Can I band them? If so, what size band?? Do you just number them? I've never done this before if you can't tell lol

I've seen a lot of people use colored zip ties for chicks. That seems to work reasonably well and isn't terribly expensive. You will have to change them often as they grow.
Wing bands can also work but again you have to keep an eye on them as they grow and their feathers come in.
