another broody !!

My little black silkie has I think gone broody ! she started to sit on an egg on Thursday so i placed to more under her . Anyway yesterday morning she got off them and didnt return till early evening but this morning she came out had some food and water and a big poo !!! and has now returned to them :? Are these eggs going to be okay or should i wait a few more days and if she is still sitting replace some fresh ones :?

hi,

if they have been under her since thursday and has spent a whole day off of them they will have gone cold and died. the big poop is very normal for broodies and stinks! i would make sure she is happy to sit and isnt getting up and going off and then sit some fresh eggs. its okay for her to get up for 10-15mins to stretch her legs but she needs to go back to them after that. its good for a broody to come out a couple of times a day so they can go to the loo and feed without pooping in the nest.
putting her in her own coop will help and making the nest area dark will help also.
