Hi,
My cockeral has had very red areas between his toes for past few days on both feet, he is walking fine, jumps up and down with no problem, eating and drinking and generally looks in the peak of condition.
Should I do anything, is this something that is developing? Has anyone experienced this at all ?Need some helpful advice please.

I would just keep an eye on them, as long as he is acting normally and they are just red and not sore I am sure he is fine. It is likely he is coming up to moult and the redness is just the loosening of his scales.

Hi,
My cockeral is about 6 years old and he too has clean legs and the areas between his toes have been bright red since I acquired him about 4 years ago-it doesn't seem to affect him at all.

Thank you for the replies. I will keep a close eye on him but feel relieved. I am quite new to chicken keeping
so all help is invaluable.
Kind regards

Hello,
My Brahma cockerels were like that, red all of the way
up the leg, cochins as well.We put it down to the fact that
that they had started to breed an were hot to trot so to
speak.

I had heard that too Brahmist that red legs was associated with male sexual maturity, I don't know if this is correct but quite a few breeders have mentioned it now.
