i should have about 3 days to go until the 3 eggs i bought off the internet should hatch...
however the hen i bought them for isnt getting much of a look in now that the other hen has decided she wants to sit on them. I have to lift them both off everyday to have a drink, dust bath and some food etc...
Today while they were off i had a quick look at the eggs and very gently moved them so the original hencould have a lay on them... one of them in particular seemed very heavy, so i assume from that there is possibly a chick inside...
i was actually wondering... when or if they start to hatch which hen will think that the chick or chicks is theirs or will they share the chicks care... or am i looking at this from a human perspective. the original hen has been in with the eggs the whole 18 days where as the other has only been i there about a week...
