Hi any help would be good please

we have just got 2 indian runner ducklings we think they are around 10 weeks old. When we got them the shop said to give them the same as the chickens which is mixed corn and layer pellets is this right they dont seem to be eating much. I have also been told about layer pellets with water.

What is the best way to train them

Sorry one more question we think we have one boy he loves to stand tall and one girl who is not so big will we be ok to keep to this many

Hello, and welcome :)
pellets and mixed corn or wheat is fine- are they free ranging? they will eat slugs, worms etc if they can find them. you can keep a pair - or you can add more ducks- so that the drake has two or three girls :)
When you say "train them" they will get used to you if you are patient and take your time with them- give them as much space as you can and some water they can wash/swim in would also be good.
regards,David :)

thank you Davidd.
the ducks and hends are in a large area at the top of the garden both have there own houses we have a temp pond for the ducks and a seperate water for the hens.
We let them out in the pen together this evening and all went well the chickens have the garden when someone is at home and this is over 200ft the ducks will be allowed to do the same when they have grown some more at the moment they panic and hide and there are to many places to look for them, as it was my 8 year old managed to let hers get out into the school field and we were looking for her for about 3 hours, fence now sorted and Charlie is home.
The runners seemed to eat more when they were left to roam there larger area. I think we will see if we have the sexes right now before we get any more or we could be making more problems for our selves.
