    Who are these recommendations protecting? They are not going to stop the spread in the wild bird population. I very much doubt that they are there to protect the hobby keepers and breeders. One might have thought we would have learned something for the Covid locksdowns but it seems not.

    That looks as if it could be a vent prolapse. A clear in focus picture from directly behind would be helpfull. Acsites would show a more uniform swelling on her underbelly. Take her to a vet. https://www.bhwt.org.uk/hen-health/health-problems/prolapse/

    Chicken keeping ethics. Now that is one long slippery slope. I've never tried pinless peepers and have no idea if they work or not. I suppose if one keeps chickens in a coop and run then or just in a coop like some commercial concerns and there is a feather pecking problem for example, these...
