I am convinced ours are reincarnated miners, judging by the holes they are digging. I am just waiting for them to start looking for pit props.

That madam is a he. Way to go to make him feel even more depressed than he is already.
He may be looking less of a he because his lovely tail feathers were recently torn out by a weasel and he has a sore arse from not just that but the stitches needed to close a wound.
 
He manages to look awfully sorry for himself at the rear end and very proud of himself at the front end!
Did he recover OK, Shadrach?

Yes. Needed daily cleaning until the stitches came out.
 
Lovely photos Shadrach. Henry is a very hansom chap. Does he have girls?

I notice your green feeders are falling apart as ours are. I think they are not made for clear skies and hot temperatures- poor UV resistance. We have scrapped most of ours and bought local which are not as well suited to pellets because they need shaking daily, but they do seem to last.

He does have hens, 18 at last count. All Ex Battery hens and rescues.
I had to move back to the UK after Brexit.
