Thanks to the efforts of my young cat, yesterday I became the carer of a very small pheasant chick-no older than a week old.
I 've got it under a heat lamp and feeding it chick crumb and scrambled egg. It's not ideal but to get it to a wildlife rescue centre is a round trip of 100 plus miles. I've called them to say if they hear of anyone else with a singleton then we could try and buddy them up.
After handling it I started itching and had to strip off and get showered straight away so I wonder if it has lice and if so how to treat in one so young.
Any advice appreciated.
