Hello, they shouldn't be long- now the days are geting longer. My pullets have layed all winter but my old hens are just starting again. A bit of sunshine and a few warmer days will help lots.
regards, David :)

I have been impatiently waiting as no-one was laying, 2 three year old hybrids , 2 two year old pekins and 2 young araucanas I got last autumn. Great excitement this morning as one araucana was making a definite "I've laid an egg " noise and when I went to check one lovely blue egg and also a pekin egg. I read somewhere recently that Valentines day was traditionally regarded as the day hens started laying again.

As everyone has said, it shouldnt be too long with the days getting longer. are their combs & wattles reddening up?
