New to showing call ducks

I wanted to ask a question. Do show birds have to have their primary flight feathers? I assume they do. My calls free range in the garden and my silver drake has just changed his flights. I am a little concerned that he might fly off. There's no reason that he should as he is fed well and his mate is clipped and I dint think he'd leave her.
Cheers.

Hello, yes, they need their feathers- they shouldn't fly off if settled, well fed and have a mate. My muskovies fly everywhere and are always there at bed time- they just get into a routine and know where home and feed are.
regards, David :)

Thanks David.
He has started flying about the garden and his wing clipped mate is not happy at all. She runs around the grass following his flight path. So funny. Poor girl.
