Good afternoon, I'm thinking of getting two Pekin Ducks. I was wondering what do they live in, how big does it have to be and nest or roost?? I have chickens right now.
Plus, I'll take any other advice you feel like shareing.

Thanks and have a GREAT Day!!

I want to thank all you people who looked at my post, but had no helpful advice for a person who was new to raising ducks, I hope you detect a hit of sarcasm. Try and remember when you started out and all the questions you had.
The people over on the chicken forum are much more helpful, if you get a chance stop by and see how we help our fellow "Keepers".
Again, thanks for nothing!!!

Hi Wrigley,
sorry you have not had a response yet, sometimes people have a quick look then have a think and reply when they have time to sit and write, I know thats what I do :) Looks like this was only posted yesterday... we can be a bit slow here sometimes what with it being hatching season :) Lots to do!
A couple of pekin ducks will need a small pond/tub and some pasture/grass and a secure night shed and if you are not around all day they will also need to be secure during the day from foxes with electric netting usually.
They wil need a large area as ducks love to range and forage like chickens. How much space do you have for them? Bear in mind they will soon turn a small area into a mud bath, they are very messy!!!

I don't know the first thing about ducks, (except not to feed ducklings on medicated chick crumb) but I'm learning a lot, thanks to Dorsetduckowner's advice (in The Other Place!) - well worth waiting for, especially in the hatching season.

The other place?

The Chicken section, (see Wrigley's post in Chickens yesterday.)
Isn't that what the Lords call the House of Commons? (Or vice versa, can't remember which!)

If you log on to read messages, & select unread messages, you get all of them Wrigley; re quail, ducks, hens, the works. If you don't get a reply, it might just be that the people who've read your message don't have a helpful answer, because we don't know anything about ducks! If it's any consolation, I didn't get any answers a few weeks back when I asked a question about tropical fish... Don't think we're being unfriendly; we're just not talking wibble about things that we know nothing about. :)02
