That is a beautiful sight. Today I saw loads of poppies in wheatfields on the Tour de France which is currently in Denmark (obviously) which made me very nostalgic

Those wild flowers are beautiful. Ours have been mainly buttercups this year!
Seems to be a year for them - they're everywhere here too this year! Vivid fields full of them. Last year, we were over-run with willowherb. This year, I'm allowing it to bloom in certain areas, but not in my flowerbed!

I entered Superbloom by the slide room, the one on the right btw.

There were 5 of the copper butterfly & dragonfly sculptures in the moat.

We also had a walk around the chimp trail on the South Bank. The sculptures were impressive, and we had fun hunting them down

I am amazed, and massively encouraged, that so much thought and effort has gone into an outside attraction in the centre of London, so that it manages to be fun, beautiful, environmentally sensitive, creative and just a fabulous thing all round. Long gone are the days of keep off the grass! Thanks for posting BYM and you look like you are having a ball! I am going to mention it to friends, in case they aren't aware of it.

It runs until September, and you can book a timed ticket online, there are evening slots as well. With the timed ticket it wasn't crowded.
They just need to search out "Superbloom"

You can book an inclusive ticket for the Tower itself if you so wish.

The slide goes from the top walkway right to the ground and we both went on it. Ruth went down with an 80 year old who was a bit nervous, then couldn't stand up for laughing at the end

Well that's one way of cutting down on fuel usage.
Where was it taken, was it Holland, as I have seen large mechanical creatures there on the beaches?

That's how the hedgehog got it's name.

Made me smile

There have been half a dozen tress poisoned in South Wales and newly planted trees in Bute Park have been repeatedly vandalised. I just CANNOT get inside the heads of these people. The recent tree poisoning could easily have resulted in injury to innocent passers by from falling branches or even the collapse of the trees themselves.

I just don't understand it at all.

We had some planted locally in memory for someone, and they were ripped out of the ground.

If people kill a tree outside their house I'd be inclined to put a small felling cut into it directly facing their house & then put a TPO on the tree. Then when the tree eventually falls down it'll flatten their house. It would serve them right.

We've got an ash tree belonging to the council just the other side of our front fence. It's probably tall enough to hit our house if it were to fall in the wrong direction. Am I demanding that it's felled? Absolutely not. I've been removing the ivy from around it to give it the best possible chance. I can't stop it from getting Chalera, but I'll do what I can to keep it healthy...
