It's Wednesday 9:50 am EST here in the states, and I haven't seen any new comments on anything since yesterday.
I just want to make sure you all are ok. I haven't seen anything on the news either.
I hope all is well.

Hi Wrigley, are you using the Show New Posts and Show Unread Posts buttons at the top of the topics in the Index page?
Yes we're all fine here, thanks for asking, and the have been several posts- I know because I've made a couple of them! Even the stress of the Olympics, the recession, and the awful weather here hasn't totally flattened the U.K

I thought things had been a bit quiet on the forum - wondered if there wa something wrong with my system. Are we all just totally fed up with the rain?

Are you all excited about Hosting the Olympics??? I think it's GREAT!!! If any of you attend, hold up a sign that says "Hello Wrigley" :)17 :)08

We could use some rain here, It's been about 3-4 weeks with out a significant amount.

I Am fed up with all this rain too! Apart from the weeds and grass nothing is growing properly on the allotment. This time last year we were eating lovely cauliflowers, none ready yet this year. Picking lettuce peas etc. Banties are fed up having to run back into run to keep dry. Hoping the forecasters are right and we can expect a change next week! :)

We have building works going on at the moment and typically (like right now!!) it rains all day and then dries up when the workmen have gone home. The sun is shining and it's 20 degrees outside but it's poured with rain nearly all day!!

Sorry guys, I would gladly trade places with you for the moment. It's 93f, very humid which makes it feel like 99f. No breeze. Calling for Thundershowers this afternoon. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I'm giving the girls frozen water bottles in their waterers, watermelon and cold fruit. I have the fans running in their coops too.

I must admit it is much harder to keep birds cool when the temperature really does hot up, specially large soft feathers breeds. I heard on the news this morning Wrigley that some parts of the US haven't had rain for weeks and this is starting to affect crops.

That's right foxy, Illinois for example, I lived there for 13 years. We had such a mild winter this last time and "Experts" forcasted a great season for corn, so the farmers planted corn like never before. Well Illinois had over 30 days in the 90's (f). Crops all over the midwest are dying. Soybeans and Corn are getting hit the hardest. Livestock is being effected also. "They" say corn prices are going to rise quite a bit this year. I wish there was something I could do. Pray!
It's seasons like this that make the American Farmer a dying breed. Alot of them "Put all their eggs in one basket". It's going to be too hard for some of them to recover from this.
