Found one of my week-old turkeys with a red, inflamed cloaca today. There is also discharge of some sort covering the underside of its rear end, whereas all the other poults are completely dry. It was being pecked at by another bird, though I think this is a result rather than a cause. I didn't find any blood in the brooder box, so I'm pretty sure the manure is normal.
Any ideas what could be causing this? I removed this one and placed in a "hospital box" which has a red heat lamp so it won't get pecked at.
