We have 1 khaki campbell drake 3 white campbell females and a pair of mallards who have all lived happily together for at least 6 months now, yesterday the 2 drakes were attacking one of the females campbells biting her on the neck and wings, she was bleeding, we had to seperate her for now.
Any ideas why ?? or how to stop it ??

Hi, i am afraid its the breeding season- the drakes can be a bit over excited very easily - with only four ducks and two drakes there will be a bit of fighting at this time of year- can you seperate the drakes- that should solve the problem- i would keep the mallards seperate if you can - regards, David :)

That's a brilliant idea girlracer :D .
Drakes if they outnumber the ducks (wild mallard)will chase the ducks unmerecilessly and can even kill them.
This time of year,I have walked round pittville Lake in Chelt, and where the drakes are chasing one duck, and she eventually gets away from them,I've had them rest by my feet.So I feed them and shoo the males away.
Years when the females are not outnumbered, they all seem fine, and you don't have distressed females collapsing at your feet.
