dirty eggs

My hen has just started to sit on eggs. This morning I found that she had broken one (I think she stood on it) and some of the rest now have yolk on them. I wiped them gently with some straw and removed most of it. Will they still incubate and hatch, or would it be best to replace all of the eggs and start again?

I'd replace the eggs, the bedding and clean the area thoroughly Carolyn. After 20 days the stuff will haver started to rot and will be a big potential source of infection. If you have more eggs all you have lost at this stage is a few days. Make sure all the shells are strong as it may have been a thin shelled egg that was the problem. Tap with a pencil should be sufficient.
