I hatched 2 ducklings from my pair of Saxony 's this spring ,they have both appeared to be female and started quacking loudly at 6 weeks ,after the first moult they were still apricot in colour and still quacking as ducks .I have recently noticed that 1 of them has started to colour as a drake ie burgundy breast ,neck ring but no curly tail and still quacking very loudly .I am confused !
07 - some call the hens and some even crow- but they are still female. Perhaps it's just a throw back - i am sure she will still lay and be a normal female.
