Hello, I have 3 Arberaker hens coming soon. I may have the spelling wrong but I have not been able to find any info on this breed. Can anyone please shed some light. Thank you.

Never heard of that as a breed Laallee. Is it a pedigree breed or the name of a breeder of hybrids? There are a few strange sounding Dutch or European breeds that occasionally make it over to the UK- could it be from there?

Thank you.
The breeder, a "proper character" tends to put a H in front of every word and has a strong Cumbrian accent so it might be Harbaraka!
Nice fellow anyway and he has supplied me with good hens for a few years.
Definitely a mix of breeds but I got the impression that it was a recognised mix (atleast by him), I am sure he mentioned Rhode Island, Maran, Leghorn, Sussex, but by then I had lost track of what he was saying!!

All the breeds you mention are pure breeds and good layers, so a mix of those should result in a good healthy laying hen. I guess Arberaker is Cumbrian for 'a carefully selected assortment'.
