I have 8 blue slate eggs in the incubator. They are at not quite 26 days, I took them from the egg rocker this morning, and soon after one pipped out the wrong (small) end, and several others have cracked, but not pipped. 7 hours later, there has been NO further progress.

I upped the humidity and slightly lowered the temp as advised - but shouldn't something have happened by now?

HELP if any of you have experience hatching turkeys

Hello, there is still plenty of time for them to hatch- they can take up to 36 hours so don't open the incy and just wait and see what happens- they should hatch ok when ready.
regards, David :)

Gosh, I guess. We're now at 17 hours, and no further progress at all. The one that is actually through the membrane is the one that has pipped on the wrong end, I can still see his little beak in there, and he's breathing.
The other eggs that have cracks, but haven't truly pipped all the way through have not made any progress at all either.

We just bought this Brinsea incubator after having dozens of eggs fail to hatch in our old one. Now this. We've been trying to breed heritage turkeys now for 2 years, have only managed ONE poult from an incubator, and two from a nesting hen (both of those babies died within a week or two). I was so excited to see so many of the eggs showing progress yesterday -- and now it looks like they may yet fail to hatch - AGAIN

Well, out of the 8 eggs, we had 6 successfully hatch! Who knew turkeys took SOooooo much longer than chickens  Sadly the one that pipped on the wrong end died in the shell. The other was a dud I guess, I'm just now getting ready to move them into the brooder, so I'll take a look then.

I am thrilled beyond words to finally have a successful hatch. Thanks for all the advice and good wishes! :)

Well, this morning I was going to throw out the last two eggs that hadn't done anything - one chicken, one turkey. AND - they were both pipped!!! This afternoon I have another blue slate baby and another chick :D

So out of 8 turkey and 2 chicken eggs, I had every one develop and all but one turkey that pipped on the wrong end hatch! :p

These were all from my lavender hen - got 2 blue slates, 3 lavenders, and a couple of bourbon red/lav crosses. Since I'm really hoping for a Lavender Tom, I figure I've got a good chance!!

Will never try to hatch turkey eggs in anything but a Brinsea again - in the last 3 summers we've tried dozen after dozen of turkey eggs and only had 1 poult hatch.
