What is your favorite breed of poultry ?

I’ve always had a soft spot for Orpingtons — calm, friendly, and great layers too. Mine follow me around the yard like dogs. Thinking about adding a few Sussex next, I’ve heard they’re just as gentle.

That’s great!
My favorite is Naked necks they’re not calm when they’re chicks but they love people and the smartest. I am clicker training my chickens and my Naked Necks learn quicker than the others.
 
Can quail be included in this? Also it seems a shame to exclude bantams.

I won’t keep anything with Italian in anymore, very noisy and crazy libido.

English whites are my favourite so far, they have a matriarchal hierarchy and if you put mealworms in their coop they form an orderly queue waiting patiently for their turn.

I also never said bantams didn’t count so if you have a favorite bantam then it counts too. 😀
