Hi, I'm new to poultry keeping but have 3 mixed duck eggs at day 21 of incubation and am very excited!! :)99

I've read that I need to increase humidity and decrease the temperature and stop turning at about 25 days, is there anything else I need to do?

Also, all being well with these three, I would like to incubate some more eggs either Abacot Ranger or Ancona but haven't found any of the latter anywhere in the UK at all, are they as rare as they seem?

Thank you...Scramble :D

Hi Scramble and welcome to the forum. I'm a chicken person really, but the hatching principles for ducks are the same. As you say, stop turning, reduce the temperature and increase humidity. The other things to do are not touch the eggs or open the incubator unless absolutely necessary as the drop in humidity will cause complications. The chicks are orientating themselves for breakout and moving the eggs will disorientate them and use up precious energy.

Good luck.

:) Thank you!

Also, I set the eggs on a Sunday evening in the oncubator do do I count day 1 as the Monday?
Sorry about all the questions!

The '1' indicates that the first complete day's incubation has happened - just as we say a baby is '1' when he's had his first birthday and has completed a year. So the eggs go in as '0' and the counter should change to 1 on Monday evening.
