Hi - I am new to this and wanted some advice please - my appleyard cross runner ducksat on 2 eggs but they both failed to hatch. After candling and deciding they were going off - I broke them open and they were indeed off and the ducklings looked full term to me. I removed the eggs on day 32. Any ideas why they failed to hatch - we did have that very hot weather on days21 onwards - also the shells were extremely hard. All help and advice greatly received.

Hiya, sorry to hear you didn't have success.
If you don't mind I have copied your post to the incubation and hatching section of this forum where you may get more of an insight.
There are many many reasons why eggs fail to hatch, it would be impossible to say why.
If the ducklings were full term.... when you say off, what do you mean?

They smelt bad and the membrane had gone a dark brown almost black colour - I had googled videos of candled eggs that were full of bacteria and they looked like that - also they shells had started to go mottled
