yuukkk a poss lash egg

2 of my girls are not to good so they are shut away in quantine there are no syptoms of anything they are just dull an sad , well this after noon after some dodgy poos one of the girls laid the yolk and bit of white minus the shell about 10 mins later out popped a very gross looking lash egg or just the shell 03 03 i hope thats the only thing worng with them and they pick up very soon i have them on everything they need although they are not eating much at the mo and i dont know if they are drinking as i have been at work all day . this girly who laided the yukky thing is getting on a bit now and i think shes over 3 yrs so could this be the end of her laying from now on .

Back in 1910's a Frenchman determined that hens have only 600 eggs to lay. In my experience hybrids lay less than that and shed their whole egg system afterwards. Two of our Black Rocks did. Came out looking like a large blood/flesh covered egg and they never laid again -Annie (3 years old now) remains and is very healthy otherwise. Two of our Legbars shed their ovaduct lining which is termed a lash I think; looked like half a pork sausage. They both laid again 6 months later. Sounds like yours have just laid a broken egg and may contract an infection as a result of the shell cutting the insides. Could be they are sick already? Are the poos green? Antibiotics as a precaution may be advised by the vet.

one of them had green poos but shes actully fine now and the other is brighter this morning but going of to the vet later shes getting on now so i expect these probs from some of my girls .
