A couple of weeks ago the local WI "Yarn bombed" one of our local market towns. I don't know how many members they have but it must have taken them ages because every lamppost,seat,bin and piece of street furniture on the High Street has a piece of knitting on it, no mean feat when you consider it is about 700m in length. Luckily it has hardly rained here since.
