With all the problems of red mite a while ago, I completely forgot to worm my hens  This
morning I found a poo full of worms so have started to worm them with Flubenvet 1%.
I'm not good at maths so maybe someone who help me out here.
I have 5 hens

How much Flubenveet 1% do I have to give for the 7 days because I'd like to premix it
with corn so that they will eat it all every day before I give them their layers pellets.

Thanks

There's Flubenvet info here on the poultry medication pages.

It is difficult to feed with their corn as the dose rates are for their main food (pellets maybe?) and you would need to take a guess at how much your birds eat in a day and add the same amount of pre-mix to a small amount of corn...

For 1% Flubenvet:
Medicated feed should be fed for 7 days without a break and 60 g (the whole tub) medicates 20 kg of feed. It depends on how big your girls are and how much they eat but it follows on that 3 g medicates 1 kg of feed... This should be on the tub under Chickens and Geese.

So assuming your 5 hens are average and eat 110g of food each per day 5 x 110 = 550g so for 7 days I would be thinking about medicating 4Kg of food which 12g.

I used Sunflower or Olive Oil mixed with it to help it stick to the pellets.

Oh and make a note of the date in your records so you know when to worm (in another 6 months as routine / or as necessary if they get re-infected).

Heavy infestation can cause impaction in the gut and when the worms are killed, the toxins they release can kill a bird - so it's important to worm them routinely every 6 months or so with Flubenvet to prevent this.

Hope this helps...
